FY 2021 Budget
The Fiscal Year 2021 budget continues critical investments in a wide range of programs across government that are working every day for Rhode Islanders. The State has already built a strong framework, which has lifted the economy to new heights: in 2019 alone, the State saw its unemployment rate hit a 30-year low of 3.5 percent and marked an all-time high for number of jobs based in Rhode Island at more than 500,000.
Sustainability is a key tenet of this proposal, which looks to protect the State’s progress by proposing responsible investments in high-impact programs while better aligning the State’s tax structure with the emerging shift toward a services-based economy.
